Health Share’s Community Advisory Council usually meets on the first Friday of each month at 12:30pm. Meeting locations rotate among Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties. Specific information is posted here up to one month prior to each meeting.
Since our inception, Health Share of Oregon has been committed to our values of transparency and accountability. In 2012, we seated our Community Advisory Council even before our Board of Directors and have held public Council meetings as required of all Coordinated Care Organizations (quarterly). As the spirit of health system transformation continues at a fast pace, our Council decided to take a pause, review lessons learned over the past four years, and improve how our Council functions.
We began this process in the last quarter of 2016 with closed working meetings. The objective of these meetings was to improve Council structures, procedures and public engagement. Health Share will host a public meeting during the first quarter of 2017 focused on our Community Health Improvement Project, with the new iteration of our Council launching during the second quarter of 2017. We continue to strive to center member experience in all that we do.
If you are interested in becoming a member of our newly revamped Council, we will be recruiting additional members this Spring. Please contact Rebecca Naga, Health Share’s Community Engagement Program Manager for more information: email@example.com.
Photovoice Project Community Gathering
Date: 3/24/17 4-7pm
Location: Q Center 4115 N Mississippi, Portland, OR
Health Share has been conducting a Photovoice Project using participatory photography to engage community members in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington County. The intent of the project has been to broaden the awareness of their lived experiences, health challenges and community strengths. Photovoice amplifies the voice of individuals who may otherwise be unheard. The Project additionally serves to build community connectivity and share reflections through photography and stories. This project integrates an intersectional identity approach looking at the intersections of populations by race, ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Health Share will utilize the information from this project to inform the Community Health Improvement Plan.
We are hosting a community gathering at the Q Center (4115 N Mississippi) next Friday, March 24th from 4-7pm (with a short program beginning at 5:30pm). Attached you will find a flyer!
If you are able, please attend and meet some of the project participants and photography. You can RSVP here: https://tinyurl.com/zofgzk8
Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed for persons with disabilities. Those needing accommodations please contact Michael Anderson-Nathe at (503) 416-4980 or firstname.lastname@example.org at least two days before the meeting.
