What should I do right now?

Keep getting care from your Providence Health Assurance plan as you normally do. There is nothing you need to do at this time.

Do I need to choose a new health plan?

No. If you are currently enrolled in a Providence Health Assurance medical plan from Health Share, you will automatically move to CareOregon on January 1.

Can I keep seeing my doctor?

Most providers in the Providence Health system are expected to join the CareOregon network. Our goal is to help members continue seeing the doctors and providers they know and trust.

Will Health Share contact me?

Yes. Health Share will mail a letter in October with more information about this change. The letter will let you know if any action is needed. 

Should I change my health plan now?

We recommend you stay with your current Providence Health Assurance plan for now. If you switch plans before January 1, you may not be able to see the same doctors after the move to CareOregon. 

When will this change happen?

The change will take place on January 1, 2027.

What should I do if I also have a Medicare Advantage plan with Providence Health Assurance? 

Members who have both the Oregon Health Plan and Medicare will also have their Medicare Advantage plan change to CareOregon Advantage Plus in 2027. If a Medicare Advantage member would like to change to another plan for 2027, they will need to do so during the Medicare Open Enrollment period from October 15, 2026 to December 7, 2026.
