Why this is happening:
A federal law changed Medicaid across the country. In Oregon, Medicaid is called the Oregon Health Plan, or OHP. In 2025, Congress passed H.R. 1, a law often called the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” These new rules came from this federal law and apply to every state.

Starting January 1, 2027:
Members who renew coverage after January 1, 2027, may have to submit proof of work or an activity, such as school or volunteer work. For 2027, self-attestation will be allowed.

Starting October 1, 2027:
Members will have more frequent renewals. More details are coming soon.

Who is impacted?
Adults ages 19-64 who are part of the ACA (Affordable Care Act) Medicaid expansion population. This includes OHP members in the Young Adults with Special Health Care Needs (YSHCN) and Healthier Oregon programs.
