Health Share of Oregon will launch a search for a new CEO, following an announcement this week that Oregon Governor-elect Tina Kotek named current CEO, James Schroeder, the new interim Director of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).
Mindy Stadtlander, COO, will serve as the interim CEO for Health Share while the Board of Directors initiates a search process for a new CEO.
“Health Share fully supports Governor-elect Kotek’s decision to appoint James to lead the Oregon Health Authority,” said Marni Kuyl, Chair, Health Share Board of Directors. “We believe he is absolutely the right leader for OHA and we’re thrilled for him to have this opportunity. During his time at Health Share, he has not only shown his passion and commitment to our members, but has been a visionary leader for the entire organization.”
Schroeder started at Health Share right before the pandemic and successfully led the coordinated care organization’s response to COVID-19. He focused on helping address social determinants of health, developing an innovative supportive housing benefit, and demonstrating that investing additional resources in behavioral health and addiction services is not only needed, but possible.
“We look forward to seeing James’ passionate and collaborative leadership style at OHA,” added Kuyl. “Health Share will continue to lead through innovation while serving Oregon Health Plan members in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties. We are confident in Mindy and the rest of the Health Share leadership team to guide us through a smooth transition.”
