Community Update About the New Public Charge Rule

March 2, 2020 | 6:00pm - 7:00pm | Virginia Garcia Cornelius Wellness Center

A new public charge rule started Monday, February 24. The new rule makes it harder to become a permanent resident if you enroll in certain government benefit programs. The new rule DOES NOT apply to everyone. Many families and children who qualify for public benefits ARE NOT affected by the public charge rule, this includes Medicaid for kids under 21, Medicaid for pregnant women, and emergency Medicaid (CAWEM), among other programs.

Virginia Garcia and Catholic Charities are hosting an event to update the community about this rule on Monday, March 2, from 6-7 p.m. at the Virginia Garcia Cornelius Wellness Center.
